Preventive care is all the nursing you do to keep your teeth, gums, and above all, your oral health good.

Preventive care

Regular brushing and flossing are important to detach plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth, and in the gaps between the teeth, keeping your teeth clean. Avoiding sugar-rich foods is a good idea because they can damage your teeth, and cause other problems eventually. You can prevent from undergoing expensive surgeries such as tooth extractions and restorations, root canal treatment, periodontal surgery etc.,

How frequently should I visit a dentist?

There are no general rules that dictate how frequently one should visit a dentist. However, studies suggest that it is recommended to visit a dentist once in a year. The frequency typically depends on your present oral health.

  • Brush your teeth two times a day.
  • Change your teeth brush when the bristles become frayed (Usually, this happens in three or four months)
  • Floss your teeth regularly.
  • Have a balanced diet.
  • Visit your dentists at least once a year.

Find out the following from your dentist:

  • Recommended tooth brush, tooth paste, floss or any other product required to maintain good oral care.
  • A number of cleanings I need each year.
  • Do I need to make any change in my oral hygiene?
