The Invisalign® Process
Unlike old-fashioned methods of orthodontics, Invisalign® uses computer-generated 3D modeling systems that create a series of dental aligners that guide your teeth into the correct position. Each set of transparent aligners is worn two weeks at a time before you replace it with the next set in the series. Gradually, you move your teeth without ever needing adjustments in a dental office.
Before we begin treatment, your San Diego dentist will create a preview so that you can see what your smile will look like when Invisalign® is complete. You will have the opportunity to discuss the preview one-on-one with your dentist to ensure it is exactly what you want. How often I must wear my aligners?
To get effective results you have to wear your clear dental aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, removing aligners only to eat and clean them.
Are there any restrictions on what I can eat and drink with Invsialign®?
No, thanks to invisible removable aligners! You can eat and drink your favorite food. You need to remove your aligners before eating and thoroughly clean your teeth before replacing them.
Can I chew gum while wearing teeth-straightening aligners?
No, the gum will stick to your aligners.
